Golf: Tiger Woods makes US Open comeback: “Honored”

Tiger Woods is the winner of the most PGA events in history.

In recent years, however, he has competed very sparingly, and last year he played only one major: the US Masters.

The injured 48-year-old has not played the US Open since 2020, when he missed the cut.

But today announced the organizers that Woods, who is currently only ranked 789th in the world, that Woods has accepted the invitation to play in the tournament, which will be held June 13-16 in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

– I am honored to receive this invitation, and could not be more excited for the opportunity to compete in this year’s US Open. Above all when it is played at Pinehurst, a course that means so much to the sport, says Woods, on the US Open website.

Tiger Woods has won the US Open three times. The first time, in 2000, he won by 15 strokes.
