This old 89 euro phone is making a comeback nostalgic

Nostalgic or young users who love vintage will love the new product from Nokia. Finally something new… Not really!

Our mobile phones allow more and more things: watching series, taking photos of a quality worthy of the best cameras, surfing the internet, sending emails. Omnipresent in our lives, they serve as an alarm clock as well as a calendar or tablet. Their most basic functions, calling and sending SMS, seem almost anecdotal. However, for some time now we have been seeing a step backwards.

After years of using ultra-sophisticated smartphones, some people decide to put it away and buy a basic button phone. The result is less screen time, less stress and a freer mind. The appeal of vintage also has a lot to do with it and nostalgic fans will be very happy to learn that Nokia is preparing to relaunch one of its emblematic models.

The specialist site NokiaMob reveals that the Swedish manufacturer will unveil a reissue of its famous 3210 this May 8 before marketing scheduled for May 15, just in time to celebrate Nokia’s 150th anniversary. Originally released in 1999, this rugged cell phone has sold more than 160 million copies worldwide. At the time, the 3210 had more than one asset to seduce: the presence of the cult Snake game but also the possibility of changing its shell or modifying the ringtone. Nokia has of course revised the characteristics of its 3210, without distorting it.

The next-gen 3210 is expected to feature a new 2.4-inch IPS LCD display, Unisoc T107 processor, 2-megapixel f/2.8 camera capable of capturing 720p video, 4G and a long-lasting battery charging via USB-C. It will weigh 61.3 g (compared to 194 for the Apple iPhone 11 for example) and consumers will have the choice between two colors: blue or yellow/gold. How much will you have to pay to afford this little wonder? Only 89 euros!
