This is the most brutal Sylvester Stallone film of all

From the almost low-key character study of a mentally traumatized war veteran, the Rambo franchise has steadily grown into one harrowing brutal action extravaganza changed. The violent climax was reached here with the sequel John Rambo from 2008, for which Sylvester Stallone himself directed.

To this day, the mercilessly brutal action film is indexed in Germany. That’s why only one is running on today’s TV broadcast on ProSieben at 12:25 a.m cut FSK 18 version.

Sylvester Stallone breaks the tolerable body count with John Rambo

Samaritan – Trailer (German) HD

Even if the subsequent sequel Rambo: Last Blood presented some even more explicit methods of dying, John Rambo comes up with one more extreme body count of 245 dead.

For the German testing authority, the fourth Rambo film clearly went too far. The uncensored original version is indexed in Germany, which means that only a version shortened by almost 3 minutes can be sold or broadcast on TV. Even though Stallone wanted to use the harshness in John Rambo to depict the horrors of war in an unembellished way, the excessive violence of the action film triggered many discussions.

On Amazon you can see Sylvester Stallone next in a new superhero role. Samaritan expires on 26th of August in the Prime subscription.
