What is behind the James Gunn controversy?
In July 2017, James Grunn was fired due to controversial tweets about pedophilia and rape that were being made at the time over ten years lagged behind in the past and were dug up by the conservative Daily Caller website. In a statement, Gunn took full responsibility for the tweets and called them a mistake.
In March 2019, Gaunn was brought back to direct and write Guardians of the Galaxy 3 after many of his peers left placed behind him to have. There were also talks with those responsible at Disney (including co-chairman Alan Horn and Marvel boss Kevin Feige), who gave his return the green light.
