The United States has announced its last arms aid package to Ukraine. If the country wants to continue supporting Ukraine in its war, the matter must be decided in Congress, which will not meet until the second week of January.
According to the US State Department, to a value of 250 million dollars, which has now been announced to the help package includes, among other things, anti-aircraft and artillery ammunition. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added in its statement on Wednesday that Congress should act quickly to renew the continuation of the arms aid.
“It is imperative that Congress act quickly, as soon as possible, to advance our national security interests by helping Ukraine defend itself and secure its own future,” the statement said.

Ukraine’s aid got stuck in an internal political dispute
Supporting Ukraine has drifted into the middle of an internal political dispute in the United States. The aid package for Ukraine is stuck above all because of the Republicans, and the Republicans themselves have admitted that the stuck aid has nothing to do with Ukraine.
At the beginning of the month, Republican senators blocked an emergency aid package for Ukraine and Israel requested by the White House. Senate Democrats were still trying to pressure Republicans for a last-minute compromise. Republicans had called for changes to US border security as part of the package. About 60 billion of the stalled emergency aid package of more than one hundred billion dollars has been allocated to Ukraine.
US support for Ukraine is particularly important because European countries have stumbled badly in their goal of arming Ukraine for the winter and spring. The EU has promised to deliver one million artillery grenades to Ukraine by spring, but less than half of them had been delivered by the start of winter.
President of the United States Joe Biden has made supporting Ukraine a priority, and US military aid and financial support have been a necessary aid to Ukraine in its fight against Russia, which has greater manpower.
