The polices new trail after the murderer Danelo Cavalcante

Danelo Cavalcante continues to elude the police.

After he left the hiding place in the botanical garden, the authorities have now picked up a new lead.

Pictures show that the dangerous killer changed his appearance and got a car.

For eleven days, Danelo Cavalcante has been on the run from the Pennsylvania prison where he was serving a life sentence for stabbing his girlfriend to death 38 times.

Last Thursday, a large police operation began in the popular botanical garden Longwood Gardens, where the 34-year-old was caught on a surveillance camera.

But despite that, they have not been able to find him. One explanation could be that the beard and long hair are now gone.

“He has changed his appearance. He is now clean-shaven and wearing a yellow or green hooded sweatshirt, black baseball cap, green prison pants and white shoes,” PA state police write on Facebook.

Cavalcante is also said to be driving around in a white Ford Transit van that was reported stolen on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania.

“It has a cooler on the roof,” the police write.

Over 400 police officers are participating in the hunt, which is ongoing around the clock. The fact that he has not yet been found has raised concerns among relatives of the murdered girlfriend.

“They are terrified”

The family has barricaded themselves in their house and has police protection, according to District Attorney Dobrah Ryan.

– They are terrified, she says CNN.

Pennsylvania residents are also frustrated by how long it is taking the police to catch the killer.

– It’s completely crazy. I don’t understand how someone can be on the run for so long, one person told CNN.

Found in the kitchen

Many also worry that he will break into their homes. Something Ryan Drummond ran into when he discovered his old French door was ajar.

– I got my heart in the pit of my throat. He walked methodically from the kitchen to the living room, exiting through the French door.

Despite the fact that the 34-year-old killer has proven to be elusive, Police Chief George Bivens is confident that he will be caught.

– We have blocked off a large area. It’s a fairly safe cordon and we can hit hard with our emergency services.
