The most harmless enemy defeats hardcore players at level 85, destroying all their progress

A Treasure Goblin is usually the weakest enemy Diablo 4 has to offer. He’s supposed to just die and leave loot behind. But one of those little devils had his greatest moment now: he killed a level 85 sorceress in hardcore mode. And in a diabolical way.

Why are Treasure Goblins the weakest enemies? Treasure goblins are actually kind of like walking loot chests in the Diablo games. They don’t fight back, just run away and let players kill them.

The difficulty is in catching them because the little weasels are nimble and just out to flee from the player and escape their righteous fate. You don’t fight back. They’re only there to die and leave behind that sparkling loot we love so much.

So it’s actually impossible to die from such a Treasure Goblin. Actually.

When should I salvage or sell items in Diablo 4?

Twitch streamer dies silly from Treasure Goblin in Diablo 4

Then how did the player die? Twitch streamer Killthuzad streamed on Twitch without a headset and only shows gameplay. He had already reached level 85 with his sorceress in hardcore mous and was making good progress.

After almost 5 hours in a stream he was in a nightmare dungeon, went through a basement door and encountered a level 91 Treasure Goblin. He barely noticed the little guy, froze him on the spot and killed him without really looking.

He then quickly ran into the enemy’s corpse to loot. Big mistake.

But what the player didn’t notice: The Treasure Goblin had left him a parting gift, a “Death Pulse”: This is a property of monsters that leave a deadly lightning damage field on the ground after their death, which ignites shortly afterwards.

The streamer didn’t even notice, took the full damage of the field and his sorceress was a one-shot, died instantly.

It might be a good thing that the streamer didn’t have a microphone at the moment. You can see what was going on in his head at that moment. He looks incredulous, then stands up, buries his face in his hands and doesn’t know what to do with the energy. Shortly thereafter, his stream ended – he’d had enough of Diablo for the day.

His character is dead, he has to start over, I guess that really hurt him. But the goblin had his revenge. That’s what comes of treating the little buggers so badly and not giving them the respect they deserve.
