The Koran burner: The abuse was not fake

The film clips began to spread on Monday and showed how a man with boxing gloves delivered several blows to the Koran burner Salwan Momika in a square in Södertälje. He was later taken to hospital by ambulance and his face was bandaged.

Salwan Momika and his crony Salwan Najem, who were also there and live-streamed the incident on Tiktok, told TV4 Nyheterna that it was an unprovoked attack.

The police confirmed the same day that they had opened a preliminary investigation into assault.

On Tuesday evening, a man appeared who stated that he is the boxer. In a video clip, he says that everything was settled and that he agreed with the Koran burner to pretend to fight.

Salwan Momika denies the boxer’s information and states that “I do not know who this man is”.

“This is just a lie, fraud and an attempt to obscure the law and avoid the crime he committed,” writes the Koran burner to TV4 Nyheterna.

“An ongoing investigation”

The Södertälje police, who are investigating the incident, do not want to comment on whether they have received information that the fight was settled.

– Regarding the assault, there is an ongoing investigation in which all those involved have been identified. The investigation must show whether there was an assault or whether the whole thing was staged in some way. What material and how the preliminary investigation leader works is not something we answer, says Towe Hägg, press spokesperson at the police.

Hägg cannot confirm whether a report of, for example, a false alarm or false alarm has been filed against the Koran burner.

– If during the work it turns out that a crime has not been committed or cannot be proven, the work is terminated. If suspicions of other crimes arise during the work, they will be investigated.

The police do not want to comment on whether the boxer has been arrested.
