Among the delegation of King Abdullah II in Kigali: the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Commerce and the Director of Intelligence. A three-day visit during which several bilateral agreements were signed, including a tax convention to avoid double taxation and memoranda of understanding on cooperation in the economic and agricultural sectors.

In a few years, official visits have followed one another between the leaders of the two countries. First in 2018 and 2022 with President Paul Kagame’s trips to Jordan to attend the meetings of the Aqaba process, an initiative launched by Sovereign Abdullah II to strengthen international coordination in the fight against terrorism.

In February 2023, it was the turn of the Deputy Prime Minister and various Jordanian military officials to visit their Rwandan counterparts in Kigali. A meeting followed, a few months later, by the trip last August of Foreign Affairs Minister Vincent Biruta to Amman for the signing of three agreements, including the lifting of visas for nationals of the two countries.
