The hard words of the Three Kronor legends after the new World Cup fiasco: “Being hyped like superstars”

Tre Kronor’s WC ended already in the quarter-finals.
Again.
Now hockey legends send harsh criticism towards the Swedish players.

Since the gold in 2018, the WC successes for Tre Kronor have been conspicuous by their absence. Sweden has not progressed to the semi-finals on a single occasion since then.

Too many mistakes

Last night they really had the chance. In terms of play and in terms of the number of goal chances, Tre Kronor dominated, but when it really mattered, the team folded.

Ineffective power play and some crucial mistakes proved too costly. This was not the start to the new job that national team captain Sam Hallam had hoped for.

After the fiasco, there were of course many who criticized Tre Kronor’s effort. The legend Jonas Bergqvist tweeted emotionally:

But also former NHL player Kristian Huselius was critical and raised several points that he considers to be problems with, above all, today’s young hockey players.

Swedish hockey today!

Young people change agents if things are a little slow on the ice.
Fault on the coaches.
Many sign NHL contracts without having dominated at the senior level.
Being hyped as superstars during and after the Junior WC.

Is there an own requirement picture of what needs to be done or not?

At the same time, several profiles raise the question of why more NHL professionals do not want to play in the hockey World Cup.

In recent years, the invitations to Tre Kronor and the World Cup tournament have been very close.

William Nylander would need three kroner. The professionals involved make no difference. It’s only Raymond and Sandin who really add to the game. There is a long list of lace that does not come.. why? Doesn’t three kroner have the same status among NHL players anymore?

It might be comparing apples to pears, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 41 years old, more injured than healthy and still wants to play for the national team. Swedish hockey has a clear majority of NHL stars who do not seem to value gambling for Three Kronor. It’s a problem.
