The giant turnaround for Alvar Myhlback – now the 18-year-old super talent gives a new message about the future: “Will not…”

The whole skiing world is talking about young Alvar Myhlback.
The 18-year-old is one of cross-country skiing’s greatest future promises.
And now comes an unexpected turn from himself.

He has long been Sweden’s biggest skiing talent on the men’s side. But after this impressive year of success, the entire skiing world has opened its eyes Alvar Myhlback.

Myhlback’s success

The 18-year-old won double JVM gold in Planica and then a sensational third place at the Vasaloppet. He has long been forced to choose between traditional cross-country skiing and long-distance running, but it no longer works.

Now everyone is waiting for which direction he will continue to choose for his future investment in the ski slopes. In the past, he has opened up about only investing in long races next season, but now comes the big change.

New future statement

Myhlback is now closing the door on long-distance skiing in order to invest fully in cross-country skiing.
– I want to go to the WC in Trondheim. I will do everything I can to get there – and if long-distance running is not the best for me, I will not go long-distance running, says Alvar to Expressen.

But if there is no ski WC, the Swedish giant will go back to Ski Classics again.
– I know what I want – and that is to go to the WC in Trondheim. But the way there is still a bit uncertain, he tells the evening newspaper.
– I know that it is a lofty goal. And if I fail to do that, it is clear that I will go long-distance running instead.
