Fear the Walking Dead is over: This is what happens in the series finale

After Fear the Walking Dead brought back a fan favorite villain who was believed to be dead at the midseason start of season 8, the series finale in episode 12 once again raises a dead character from the dead: Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) is with her still living daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) united, whose death was actually sealed at the end of season 7.

Fear the Walking Dead: Madison & Alicia Clark reunited in series finale

At the end of Fear the Walking Dead the remaining characters scatter to the four winds to help others. Because this is what the sunken PADRE becomes MADRE aid network born:

  • Madison and Alicia Clark move alone with Troy Otto’s daughter Tracy (Antonella Rose) heads to Los Angeles after Madison murders Troy (Daniel Sharman). Madison’s own alleged death motivates her companions to undertake further selfless missions.
  • Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) is allowed to receive forgiveness and continue his new life with his German family: Frank (Isha Blaaker) and Klaus (Julian Grey).
  • June (Jenna Elfman) takes the young women around Odessa (as a trainee doctor) in the MRAP’s armored vehicle to the hut where she once met John Dorie.
  • Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades) can forgive Strand, is reunited with his cat and is allowed to stay with surrogate daughter Luciana (Danay Garcia).
  • Dwight and Sherry (Austin Amelio and Christine Evangelista) want to return to Negan’s sanctuary to look after the remaining PADRE children after the loss of their son and perhaps find their parents.
  • A lot of anger about the end of the series: Zombie finale of the Walking Dead spin-off divides fans

Consistent satisfaction with a finale looks different. After the end of Fear the Walking Dead, the audience is divided into two camps. Above all, The Walking Dead fans who stuck with the spin-off until the end in order to remain loyal to the series franchise with its numerous offshoots are disappointed:

“F*** them,” is the Fear the Walking Dead writers’ response when asked why they did all those stupid things in the last two episodes. Why are they doing this to the fans?

However, there are still a few positive voices on social media, especially when it comes to the circular reasoning of the surviving Clark family members:

Fear the Walking Dead has been a real mess over the last few years. But I have to say: That was a strong ending! Now please leave it alone. No more spin-offs. Let the stars move on and play other roles they deserve.
