Regularly, the DxOMark site establishes its official ranking of smartphones equipped with the best cameras. Number 1 in the latest rankings is a well-known brand!
Are you convinced that your latest Samsung phone or your latest iPhone is the best for taking photographs? Think again ! If the latest high-end smartphones from the two industry giants are indeed excellent in this area, they are clearly not the best according to this official ranking.
DxOMark is a research institute specializing in testing tech products. Smartphone, camera, speakers, or laptop are all devices tested according to strict standards and which allow the institute to regularly establish a ranking of the best products in each category.
This month, the ranking of the best smartphones in photography was notably shaken up by the arrival of a brand new model in first place. This is the Oppo Find X7 Ultra which currently costs around 775 euros in China (not including our European taxes). This is explained in particular by its huge one-inch sensor from Sony. But the Oppo Find X7 Ultra isn’t the only phone to reach the top spot in the rankings. The latter is tied with another device released in September 2023. This is the latest Huawei Mate 60 Pro+. These two smartphones are at the top of the rankings on the DxOMark site.
We are therefore observing some progress by Chinese brands in terms of photography. This is hardly surprising as manufacturers like Huawei or Honor have established themselves as leaders in the field for several years. Only problem: the Oppo Find X7 has only been released in China at this stage and the brand obviously does not plan to offer it for the French market. The Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ is also not available in France!
Following the ranking is another Huawei, the P60 Pro, released almost a year ago and available to order in France for almost 1000 euros. Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max is in fourth place among the best smartphones in photos, followed by the Google Pixel 8 Pro in fifth place. You have to go down to 19th place to see the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra appear there.
