Terna first closing for the sale of the electricity business

(Finance) – Terna Plus and Terna Chilegroup company Ternatoday finalized the first closing for the sale to CDPQ, a global investment group, of the companies “SPE Santa Maria Transmissora de Energia SA”, “SPE Santa Lucia Transmissora de Energia SA” and “SPE Transmissora de Energia Linha Verde II SA” , owners of three power lines in Brazil for a total of 670km, for an equity value of over 145 million euros, in line with the provisions of the agreement signed on April 29 and following the fulfillment of the conditions set out in it .

The sale of the other projects in Brazil, Uruguay and Peru – explains a note – will be finalized in several phases, following the fulfillment of certain conditions.

The operation, as a whole, is part of the broader strategy of refocusing the Terna Group’s international presence, already announced with the update of the 2021-2025 Business Plan.

The Terna Group was assisted by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, as financial advisor, and by the international law firm DLA Piper, as legal advisor. Pinheiro Neto Advogados advised CDPQ as legal advisor.
