Still unclear whether pediatric heart surgery will remain in Utrecht: ‘Also major consequences for Princess Máxima Center’

Still unclear whether pediatric heart surgery will remain in Utrecht
Utrecht – It is still not clear whether specialized care for children with congenital heart defects will remain in Utrecht. Today the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) came up with a critical report about the plan to close the children’s heart centers in Leiden and Groningen and to concentrate care in Utrecht and Rotterdam. According to the NZa, this puts acute care at risk. The healthcare authority therefore calls on the minister to draw up a new plan before major reforms are implemented in specialized heart care.
