New plans for the Zuilen nature reserve have been announced, but criticism has not yet been completely silenced

New plans for the Zuilen nature reserve have been announced

Van den Berg is not entirely dissatisfied with the new plans, but also sees things that she does not like, especially in the way farmers in the area are treated. “What is happening now is that a large part of his meadows are being taken away because people can walk over them. But then you get pollution: dog shit, plastic, cans, that kind of work. Then the grass is polluted and you have to dispose of it. So instead of closing the cycle, you make it so that the farmer has to buy feed from outside and transport manure outside.” It’s a shame, says Van den Bergh: “Now you are creating an environmental problem elsewhere, you are only cleaning your own doorstep. That is a missed opportunity.”
