Sebastian Aho scored the fifth hat trick of his NHL hockey career and with his successes, the Carolina Hurricanes won 5–3 at home against the Buffalo Sabres. Aho capped off his three-goal night with an assist.

Aho had his last three-goal night in the NHL a year and a half ago, on May 3, 2021.

– You can’t lie. The hat trick felt good, Aho, who praised his chain’s game, said on the NHL’s website.

Aho scored twice in the first period of the match and sealed his hat trick by shooting the puck into the still empty goal in the final moments.

The Finnish players played a key role in every single goal for the hosts. In addition to Aho, the net was waved Jesperi Kotkaniemi. by Martin Necas Aho received an assist from the shot he finished.

Teuvo Teräväinen too got to the power points in the struggle, as he recorded the assists for two goals scored by Aho.

Kotkaniemi’s 4–2 hit was the first of the season.

– It feels really good. There will be more goals if our chain continues in the same way, Kotkaniemi said.

Played his fourth game of the season Antti Raanta made 22 saves against Carolina in the goal.
