Season 22’s new strand aspect is so absurdly powerful that everyone wants it

In Season 22, Destiny 2 added three new strand aspects. Each has their strengths, but the Warlock’s strand aspect is probably the most popular, as not only is it absurdly powerful, but the way it is revolutionizedhow warlocks act in the game.

These strand abilities are now new: Bungie added more aspects to its newest ability, Strand, in Season 22. A total of three pieces – one for each class.

  • The Hunter gained Whirling Maelstrom, which creates a violent, twisting mass of strand-fiber that automatically seeks out and damages targets, as well as ejecting corrosive projectiles when shot at.
  • The Titan gets the “War Banner” and becomes a healer. In return, the strand banner radiates energy that periodically heals nearby allies and increases melee and sword damage.
  • The Warlock has gained the “Tissue Walk”. He can now move in the in-between world of Strang and is enormously damage-resistant. While you’re in the weave, you’ll also generate ready-to-use threads.
  • The hunter and warlock aspects in particular are currently very popular and have proven to be absurdly strong after the first tests of the players. However, the Warlock Aspect is one of Strang’s most powerful damage reduction tools in the entire game right now, making you nearly invincible in both PvE and PvP.

“Who at Bungie approved this aspect?”

This is how powerful the new Warlock aspect is: The warlock aspect in particular was a real surprise for players when they tried it. Because for just a melee attack, there is absurd damage resistance and extremely fast-generating strand threads. Both in PvE and in PvP.

  • In PvE, Tissue Walk provides approximately 95% damage reduction for a melee attack. Your warlock will also be ignored by all enemies while in weave mode, giving you full immunity.
  • It works just as well in PvP. Here you have a damage reduction of about 90% and are also difficult to kill in tissue mode.
  • In addition to this practical effect, there are also your threads. With 3 melee charges, you can let your little strand aphids do the work. It should be mentioned here that Bungie made the little helpers stronger in Season 22.
  • In Web mode, these perks consume melee charges approximately every 4 seconds.

Does the warlock aspect have any downsides at all? Yes. Its disadvantage is that you are essentially a ghost. This means you cannot interact or revive in tissue mode. You also have to accept that you only get one fragment slot with this aspect.

For most Guardians, however, this is a good compromise that people are happy to make for full immunity. And on top of that, the “Tissue Walk” aspect is a fantastic repositioning tool.

What does the community say about this overpower? Not only the players are wondering if Bungie really wanted to create such a strong aspect. Even the streamers are not so sure. Some are already expecting the aspect to be deactivated or adjusted.

  • PvP player Frostbolt commented on YouTube: “The new thread aspects are a problem!”
  • KackisHD, on the other hand, thinks: “The new strand aspects are the absolute game changer”
  • And Fallout Plays wondered, “Who at Bungie approved this new aspect?”
  • All aspects are still active. So, for now, you can use the new thread aspects anywhere in Destiny 2 and have fun with them.

How to get the new strand aspects? Obtaining the new aspects first requires ownership of the Destiny 2 DLC “Lightfall” and completion of the Nimbus quest “Removing the Veil”. After that you get access to the Veil Containment in the bottom left of the Neomuna map.

If you have already done all this, the short mission “Revelation” should be available to you since Season 22. To complete it, you must travel back to Veil Containment and listen to the latest audio log there. After that, you can return to the “Hall of Heroes” and purchase the new strand aspects for free at Pouka Pond.
