Season 2 air date revealed by Bella Ramse

The first season of The Last of Us series ended a week ago, leaving many viewers orphaned by a festive and joyful Monday. Fortunately, HBO, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are already on a war footing to prepare the sequel and the next two seasons which will tell all the events of The Last of Us Part 2. As Neil Druckmann has confirmed recently, it will take several seasons (two at least) to tell the adventures of Ellie, but also of Abby, the other major character of this sequel. We can already imagine a season dedicated to Ellie, her new demons, her conflicting relationships with Joel, then another season dedicated entirely to Abby, her point of view and everything that follows. If there are rumors about the identity of the actress that Neil Druckmann has already chosen (probably Shannon Berry), the broadcast date of this Season 2 also remains very vague. Luckily, during an interview with our colleagues from The Independent, Bella Ramsay (who plays Ellie in the series, eh) revealed the release window for the sequel and unfortunately we will have to be patient, since the young actress 19-year-old announces a release between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.

It won’t be right away. I think we’ll be shooting probably at the end of this year, or the beginning of next. So it will probably be for the end of 2024, or the beginning of 2025.

These words contradict those of Pedro Pascal who had announced the start of filming for this spring, or at least in the coming months… In short, it would seem that even on the production side, nothing is really defined at this stage. In any case, Neil Druckmann (writer and director on the series, but creator of the video game) has already started teasing Season 2 with some pretty explicit fan art. We see Abby’s muscular arm with a hammer in her hand, obviously referring to a well-known sequence from the video game, revealed during Paris Games Week 2017. So, for those who fantasized about a rewrite of the events of The Last of Us Part 2 for the series, it’s obviously rapped. Because yes, it’s better that way and that’s why Abby’s character exists.
