Sanna Marin in Moldova: Evasion of sanctions should be more difficult

Sanna Marin in Moldova Evasion of sanctions should be more

Intervening in sanctions evasion is part of the new sanctions package being prepared by the EU. According to Marin, countries outside the EU are also needed.

Prime Minister of the Ministry of Transport Sanna Marin (sd.) hopes that the European political community will intervene in circumventing sanctions against Russia.

– We can show support to Ukraine and discuss sanctions and the effectiveness of sanctions in particular. We also need to work to make evasion of sanctions even more difficult, Marin told before the summit in Bulboaca, Moldova.

Intervening in sanctions evasion is part of the 11th sanctions package being prepared by the EU. Countries outside the EU are also needed for anti-circumvention work, Marin emphasizes.

– We are not only capable of that as members of the European Union, but we need wider joint support.

The European political community was created last year in response to the Russian invasion. The community brings together almost all European countries, with the exception of Russia and Belarus.
