Another trying night in Ukraine, in Korotych in the suburbs of Kharkiv. A terminal at Nova Pochta, one of Ukraine’s extremely popular posts, was targeted by an S-300 missile launched from the neighboring Russian region of Belgorod.

Very short notice

And because these strikes are launched so close to Ukrainian territory, there is very little time to take cover when an alert sounds. This is what happened during the night from Saturday to Sunday since the 22 employees present were not all able to reach safety in time. Sixteen people were injured, eight of them seriously, and six people died. Some of the victims are no longer recognizable. They will have to be identified by DNA analyses.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a video on social media of what appears to be a badly damaged warehouse next to debris and a container bearing the logo of Ukrainian postal operator Nova Pochta.

One of the biggest in the country

This sorting center was one of the largest in the country. The building was destroyed, as were several vehicles located there. It had already been attacked by Russia.

This Sunday morning, other attacks took place, still in the Kharkiv region, in Koupiansk, regularly targeted by Russian troops. Three people were injured.
