Iceland’s Grindavik was evacuated again on Saturday after seismic activity moved closer to the city, the Icelandic public service company reports RUV.

According to Iceland’s meteorological authority IMO, the signals indicate that an eruption may occur “within the next few hours”.

Grindavik, located three miles southwest of Reykjavik, is almost empty of residents after the small town was threatened by lava at the end of last year. Most residents have only been allowed to return to collect their belongings.

According to local police, the evacuation of the few people who remain in Grindavik is going smoothly.
