Return goods worth billions were thrown away | SVT News

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

New textile and electronic products to the value of almost 22 billion euros, about 245 billion kroner, which were ordered via e-commerce were thrown away last year, according to a report.

According to researchers at Lund University, the fact that so many returned goods are thrown away is because it is cheaper for the companies. It is simply not worth repackaging them and putting them up for sale again, reports Ekot.

The researchers therefore believe that it is time to legislate on better product quality to make it profitable to take care of goods that have been sent back.
