CS2 Beta starts as a limited test – this is how you take part

When does the limited test start? The “beta” of CS2, actually a limited test of the update, is already running. The testing phase started shortly after the CS2 announcement on March 22, 2023.

How do I take part in the CS2 limited test? The players participating in the test are selected for the test by the development team based on various factors. The factors include, for example, a trust factor and playing time on official Valve servers.

If you have been selected to participate in the CS2 tests, you will receive a notification in the CS:GO menu. The message contains an invitation with which you can start the download.

  • Removal of the purchase wheel: The purchase wheel, as it was known from CS:GO, will be replaced by a revised purchase menu.
  • The biggest change to Counter-Strike 2, however, is the switch to the newer “Source 2” engine from Valve, which also runs Dota 2.

CS2 Skins – What happens to your CS:GO camouflages when CS2 releases in the summer?

Taking all skins with you: Valve has confirmed that you will take all CS:GO items with you to Counter-Strike 2. You won’t lose your skins, knives or stickers.

In addition, the weapons with CS2 will receive new high-resolution models, from which some weapon paintwork will also benefit. The new, revised exposure system also lets your skins shine in new splendor. So collectors can be happy.
