The NATO membership process of Finland and Sweden will also be discussed at the meeting. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu countries will hold a tripartite meeting today.

According to Stoltenberg, the membership of Finland and Sweden is of great importance for the northernmost regions and NATO’s eastern allies such as the Baltic countries and Poland.

The meeting of foreign ministers is the first high-level NATO meeting held in Romania since the summit held in Bucharest in 2008.
