BUCHAREST The support for Ukraine will be emphasized at the NATO foreign minister’s meeting starting today. General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg according to this, new guidelines for strengthening Ukraine’s air defense are expected from the allies.
– One of the messages here in Bucharest will be the need to enhance the supply of both air defense systems and the spare parts, training and ammunition needed for them, Stoltenberg said at a press conference held on Monday.
According to Stoltenberg, Russia is using the coming of winter as a weapon against Ukraine by destroying power plants and other important infrastructure.

The NATO membership process of Finland and Sweden will also be discussed at the meeting. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu countries will hold a tripartite meeting today.
According to Stoltenberg, the membership of Finland and Sweden is of great importance for the northernmost regions and NATO’s eastern allies such as the Baltic countries and Poland.

The meeting of foreign ministers is the first high-level NATO meeting held in Romania since the summit held in Bucharest in 2008.
