In Russia, the so-called presidential elections will be held next weekend.

Fraudulent elections will be held in Russia this weekend, which will seal the presidency Vladimir Putin power, assesses the researcher of the Foreign Policy Institute Jussi Lassila.

According to the expert, the Kremlin has carefully considered who it will allow to participate in the presidential race, and therefore there will be no surprises in the show-like elections.

If Putin wins the election, he will probably be president until the 2030s.

At the end of his fifth term in office in 2030, Putin would be 77 years old.

The Russian constitution allows Putin to run for a sixth term as well. If Putin ran for office in 2030 and won, he would be 83 years old when his sixth term ends in 2036.

Putin’s possible successors include at least eight men and one woman.

Here are the three most interesting parts of the video:

  • Putin’s successor is likely to be chosen from important members of Russia’s Security Council or key ministers.
  • It is also possible that another Kremlin influencer would come to power after Putin. Such a person could be a lower-level politician or even a relative belonging to Putin’s inner circle.
  • The Russian constitution stipulates that if the president is unable to perform his duties, the prime minister would act as acting president until new elections are held.
