Protest camp at Utrecht University Library cleared around 50 demonstrators

Utrecht – In the city center of Utrecht, the police have completely cleared the protest camp at the University Library on the Drift. Around 11 p.m., police began giving orders to leave. About 50 people remained seated afterwards. By 12:30 am they had all been arrested and taken away, and the gates to the courtyard were closed. The detainees were released shortly afterwards. “The arrests were aimed at restoring public order on the site,” the police said.
