Police blotter: Mischief charge after public urination

A man is facing a mischief charge after being accused of urinating in a store in Tillsonburg.

An employee at a store in the Tillsonburg Town Center Mall reported the incident to Oxford OPP on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

Police say a suspect was located and was in possession of an open container of alcohol.

A 28-year-old Hamilton resident has been charged with mischief and consuming alcohol in an unauthorized place.

Driver charged after collision

A 54-heard-old Cayuga man faces several charges following a collision.

Haldimand OPP responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision on Lakeshore Road in Selkirk at about 9:30 pm on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Police say the driver of a sedan struck a parked SUV and fled the scene on foot.

The accused was located nearby, displayed signs of impairment, was arrested and taken to the detachment for further testing.

The driver has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), drive motor vehicle with alcohol readily available, fail to remain, fail to report accident, fail to notify change of name, and use plate not authroized.

Driver faces impaired charge

A 64-year-old Dunnville man has been charged with impaired driving.

Haldimand OPP received a call just after 12:30 pm on Friday, Feb. 23 about an erratic driver on Main Street in Dunnville.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle, and after speaking with the driver, determined that an approved screening device be used to test for sobriety.

The accused was transported to the detachment for further testing and charged with operation while impaired.
