Pokemon Go Routes offers a new way for players to share their playstyle. Niantic has announced “Routes”, the new social feature for the title game, and it’s available starting today.
Pokemon Go Routes featureallows a player to select a PokeStop or Gym as a starting point and then record the ways they’ve played Pokemon Go in their neighborhood. After completing the session and filling in the information about the marked route, the player can submit their findings for review.

Explore other players’ routes and take advantage of special bonuses
Once approved, other Pokemon Go players in the vicinity can find and follow the saved “Route”. When players want to explore Routes in the surrounding areas, they can check the new in-game Route tab, choose a route that interests them and activate the route to start the journey.
The following special bonuses will also be offered when following a player-created Route:
- Earn a new Route Badge by following a Route to the end.
- Earn Buddy Candy faster on the Route and get Buddy Heart after completing the Route.
- Choosing a Route for the first time makes Pokemon more interested in Incense while on the Route.
- Get an XP bonus after completing the first Route during the day, and another bonus for seven days after completing a Route each day.
A new adventure with Zygarde and Zygarde Cells
While following the route, players will also be able to find a new item, the Zygarde Cells. These cells can be used after capturing the form of the mythological Pokemon Zygarde. Zygarde will appear for the first time in Pokemon Go with the special research story “From A To Zygarde”. Pokemon Go is a free download for iOS and Android devices.
