Player is overrun by enemies in Diablo 4, flees with 1 HP – manages to loot, but is bitterly disappointed

A player survives in the Diablo 4 endgame with 1 HP against enemies that are far too strong and is then disappointed with his loot.

Diablo 4 can be quite challenging at times. You’ve just relaxed and flattened a few demons and collected your loot, when you suddenly find yourself in the midst of seemingly endless hordes of enemies fighting for your survival. As if the fight wasn’t stressful enough, you’ll run out of healing potions – your character is already staring at death.

A Reddit user was in a similar situation in Diablo 4 and managed brilliantly to save himself for the long-awaited loot. However, that was hardly worth mentioning.

What happened to the player? In a clip posted on Reddit, user “petitbeurre” is overrun by countless enemies. He is currently playing the World Event Infernal Tide in the Diablo 4 endgame at World Tier 3 and is only a few hit points away from death.

For almost half a minute, petitbeurre dodges all attacks from the aggressive creatures that are hungry for life. He only has 1 HP and no more healing potions in his pocket. But petitbeurre does it well, avoiding being hit and using his sorceress’ abilities to gain distance.

A good 20 seconds before the end of the event, he then finds the much-needed healing, shortly afterwards makes it to the coveted Infernal Tide box and opens the “Tortured Gifts” for 250 of his collected embers.

We include the Reddit post with the clip of the scenario here:

Player is disappointed with the loot

Was the fight worth it? No, petitbeurre survived the flood of hell, but the box he opened at the end of the clip disappointed him. Included were:

  • Scrimshaw Tape (Holy)
  • 2 Forgotten Souls
  • 2 Fiend Rose
  • 1 Forgotten Soul
  • Elder Staff (Holy)
  • Caldean Plate (Holy)
  • 493 gold
  • A Legendary Amulet (Holy)
  • The highlight of the box was the one legendary amulet that dropped. However, that was not convincing either. A commenter also writes: “For a holy Legendary… man, the game sucks”, to which petitbeurre replies: “Besides, it was rubbish.”

Are Infernal Tide events worth it? Infernal Tide events actually promise you’ll get high Item Power items as well as some new “Holy” or “Legacy” gear.

But apart from the loot, which can sometimes be disappointing, you can mainly get the materials “Devil Rose” and “Lost Souls” here. You need them to improve and customize your equipment.

Incidentally, the patch notes for patch 1.1.1 were published on August 2nd. On MeinMMO you will find an overview:
