The 23-year-old mother and her friend were found shot to death in the park.

Next to her lay the five-year-old daughter badly injured.

Her little sister had gone missing.

The FBI is now hunting the double killer who is believed to have kidnapped the little girl.

A so-called “Amber Alert”, a message to the public about an abducted child who is in danger of death, has been issued in the United States in the desperate search for ten-month-old Eleia Maria Torres.

The girl is believed to have been kidnapped by the same person or people who shot and killed her mother Samantha Cisneros, 23, and her mother’s friend Taryn Allen in a New Mexico park.

Lying next to the car

Eleia’s five-year-old older sister was shot in the head, but survived and is being treated in hospital.

It was last Friday around 4:30 p.m. that other visitors to the park discovered the shot women lying near their car.

– A girl was also found on the ground with head injuries. The first police patrol began life-saving measures, according to Clovis police.

It was quickly realized that the tragedy did not end there.

In and around the car, the police found an abandoned pram, a baby bottle and a car seat. It was feared that a baby had been with the women when they were shot dead and began searching the park.

Hunted by the FBI

But no baby could be found.

Then the police had their fears confirmed. Samantha Cisneros was also the mother of little Eleia and she had both daughters with her during the excursion.

The FBI has been involved in the hunt for the double murderer.

The police’s main clue is a maroon Honda in which it is believed the perpetrator fled.

The theory is that the killer crashed into something in connection with the escape since small parts from a maroon Honda were found at the murder scene.

However, it is said that it is not certain that the car is connected to the murders and the missing girl.

Victims hours before the murders

The police stated on Sunday that they searched a pond in the park without finding any traces of the girl. Now they are appealing to the public for help.

– It is with a heavy heart that I stand here to inform about the tragedy that unfolded here, says Trevor Thron, Deputy Chief of Police in Clovis, according to the television channel KCBD.

Interviews with family and friends and review of surveillance footage have helped police create a timeline.

The women and children had first visited a drive-in restaurant, then bought goods at a grocery store before stopping at the park in the afternoon.

“Can be fully recovered”

Thron states that a witness had heard suspicious gunfire in the park, but did not alert the police. The investigation began after another witness saw the women lying shot at 4:25 p.m.

Raul Bujanda, special agent at the FBI’s Albuquerque office, says the top priority right now is finding the girl.

Chief of Police Thron says that there is hope that the five-year-old will be able to make a full recovery.

– Our hearts are with the victim and her family during this incredibly difficult time, he says according to ABC News.
