[Mis à jour le 08 avril 2022 à 16h07] 28 years away. The cult rock band Pink Floyd has reformed and unveils a new song, called Hey, Hey, Rise-Up! (Hey, Hey, Get up!), on the night of Thursday to Friday April 8, 2022. A new title, which will be used to raise funds for the benefit of humanitarian works for theUkraine. “Like many others, we felt fury and frustration witnessing this despicable act of invading an independent and peaceful democratic country and having its people murdered by one of the greatest powers in the world.” , explains David Gilmour, leader of the group, in a press release.

This unreleased Pink Floyd song is sung by Ukrainian musician Andriy Khlyvnyuk, of the group Boombox, enlisted in his country’s army. “Recently, I read that Andriy had left his American tour with Boombox to return to Ukraine and engage in territorial defense”, underlines David Gilmour in the same press release. “It was a powerful moment that made me want to put it to music,” he adds, while Andriy Khlyvnyuk was in a hospital bed in kyiv after being injured by a mortar splinter .

On the cover of this new song, Pink Floyd has chosen the sunflower, symbol of Ukraine. A strong sign, especially since this is the first time that Pink Floyd has recorded new music since the release of The Division Bell from 1994.
