Pfizer will sell nearly 500 vaccines and drugs at cost

Among the drugs and vaccines concerned, there are products against infectious and chronic diseases, such as diabetes, malaria, respiratory infections which today affect low-income countries.

In May 2022, during the previous Davos Economic Forum, Pfizer has opened its medicine cabinet to supply 23 of its treatments to 45 of the world’s poorest countries. These included vaccines and drugs that were patented and readily available in the United States and the European Union. An initiative potentially intended for 1.2 billion people.

Non-patent products

This time, it is a question of transforming this trial to also include non-patent products. About 500 drugs are offered. That is to say all the products for which the group has worldwide rights. Selling at cost means that only manufacturing costs and transport expenses are charged to the countries concerned.

Infectious and chronic diseases

Among these products, antibiotics to fight against infectious and chronic diseases, such as diabetes, malaria, respiratory infections, which particularly affect low-income populations.
