A villa in Trelleborg has started to burn. It was passers-by who discovered the fire and alerted the emergency services shortly after 9pm on Sunday evening.
– When we arrive, the villa is full of smoke and when we go in and search the home we find a person who we take out, says Joel Johansson, officer on duty.
The reason unclear
The extent of the injuries is unclear, but the person has been taken to hospital by ambulance, the police say.
No additional people have been found in the home.
– So now we focus on extinguishing and making sure it doesn’t spread, says Joel Johansson.
The fire is believed to have started on the ground floor, according to the fire service. But what caused the fire is unclear.
– It is far too early to say anything about.
Nearby streets have been blocked off to facilitate the extinguishing work.
