Golf: Ludvig Åberg eliminated in the major

Already in the first round, things went wrong for Ludvig Åberg in the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky. Before the second round, he was tied for 85th place with 72 shots, one over par.

Åberg did not manage to make the big recovery that had been required in the second round but finished on 70 strokes, one under par and on a total of 142 strokes. The limit to advance to the third round was 141 strokes.

However, four other Swedes are allowed to play on this weekend. The best is Alex Norén in a shared 22nd place, followed by Alexander Björk in 29th, Jesper Svensson in 41st place and Sebastian Söderberg in 51st place.

American Xander Schauffele leads the competition with a total of 130 strokes.

The competition was suspended due to darkness when 18 players still had not completed their play and will resume on Saturday.
