At lunchtime on Sunday, part of the roof collapsed on an Intersport store in the Lillänge shopping center in Östersund. Pär Lind had just stepped into the shop with his wife Maria when the roof gave way. They actually had other errands in the area, but saw that the store had discounts and decided to go in. – We were in the middle aisle in the store when we heard the crack of the world, it was just small, says Pär Lind to TV4 Nyheterna. In the same second, Pär saw the roof collapse. – I shouted to Maria: run! It was like in a disaster movie. Were you close? – Yes, it should only be meters, seconds, says Pär Lind. “I’m longing for summer now” The couple ran out together with many others, but once in the parking lot Maria started to turn around. – She was worried that there would be some left, so she started going back in and wanted to help. But I yelled at her to come back. It’s completely surreal. Pär says that he did not perceive any strange noises before the race itself. – It’s fucking scary. You should be safer, says Pär Lind and refers to a roof collapse that occurred in a padel hall in Östersund in mid-February. He had been there only a few hours before the roof gave way due to heavy masses of snow. – I left there at nine in the evening, and then it happened at night. So I was only hours away from the accident then, and now I was seconds away, says Pär Lind. What do you think that there have been two occasions? – I don’t dare go in anywhere, says Pär Lind first jokingly, but then adds: – I was in another shop over here and it felt a little scary. I’m looking forward to summer now.
