One of the greatest horror legends is set to get

When Galadriel said in a gentle voice:“Even the smallest person can change the course of fate”she definitely didn’t mean the nasty one Murderer doll Chucky from the long-running Child’s Play franchise. However, it cannot be dismissed from the horror side that the bloodthirsty toy has had a lasting influence on the world of the genre… and still doesn’t want to be retired.

As franchise creator Don Mancini trumpeted on the Scream Dreams Podcast this week, he’s working alongside a brand new series project on another murder doll film – despite the fact that his Chucky television series on Syfy and the USA Network has not even been completed yet.

Horror maestro Mancini continues to let the murderer puppets dance

It all began in 1988 with the horror film Chucky by director Tom Holland, for which Mancini co-wrote the script. After three sequels with Mancini as author, he took over the directing of the next three parts up to Cult of Chucky from Chucky’s Baby in 2004 and also created the Chucky series as a passion project. In this, among other things, he processed his experience of growing up as a gay teenager and horror fan. He had nothing to do with the 2019 Child’s Play reboot.

In the podcast in question, Mancini said:

I mean, of course, like everyone in the business, I want to do multiple things. But at this point it would be totally cool for me if it was just Chucky. I have other things I want to do. I’m working on a new pilot and I’m actually in the early stages of developing another Chucky movie. At this point my goal is to just keep working.

Friday the 13th – Jason Vorhees is a bully

Will horror icon Chucky finally be shot into space for the horror sequel?

Whether Mancini with Child’s Play 8 It remains to be seen that the long-cherished fan wish of shooting the bullying killer doll with the voice of Brad Dourif into space has finally been fulfilled. Chucky would finally emulate his colleagues Jason from Jason X, the Cenobites from Hellraiser: Bloodline and the Leprechaun from Leprechaun 4 – Space Platoon. One small step for a human, one giant step for little murderous dolls.

However, as long as franchise icon Jennifer Tilly is back on board as Chucky’s bride Tiffany and there are practical, crafted, creative kills on display, there should be few complaints from the slasher fan base that has always been loyal to the tongue-in-cheek series.
