“Not a dry eye, so nice”

During the EC bronze medal match, the entire arena in Cologne fell silent.
A supporter in the stands fell ill and stopped the match.
Now the Swedish national team’s admirable gesture after the unfortunate incident is revealed.

It was in the second half that the EC bronze match between Sweden and Germany was stopped. It became completely silent in the arena in Cologne and the doctors of both teams rushed to the stands.

Supporter sick

Shortly afterwards, the announcer announced over the loudspeakers that a case of illness had occurred among the supporters on site. After another moment of concern, the affected person was able to leave the stands to great applause, everything went well, after he received treatment.

It turned out that the sick person was wearing a blue-yellow national team jersey and immediately after the match, the national handball team appealed to all their followers on Instagram. The players wanted to get in touch with the man to show their appreciation.
– Thank you for the incredible support. We’re on your side and saw what happened. We’re all keeping our fingers crossed that you feel as well as you can, says Andreas Palicka in a video greeting.
– We are always grateful that you come to the hall and support us. As captain, I want to say that it is with great pride that we can hand this over to you and we wish you all the best.

Blue and Yellow’s gesture

All the players had signed a match shirt and wanted to give it to the supporter after the unfortunate thing that happened in the stands. Today came the news that the national team got hold of the supporter, who is called Antonio and comes from Italy.

“Antonio is found! The Swedish supporter who fell ill in the stands during the semi-final was reached by our request. Thanks to everyone who shared! We invited him to our closing dinner and he was met with warm applause by the entire squad and received, among other things, a warm hug from his favorite player Andreas Palicka, writes the national handball team on their official Instagram page.
“Antonio comes from Caserta (outside Naples) and for years has followed the Swedish national team on site during various championships. So glad to hear you are well, Antonio, and mille grazie for your support. Go Sweden!”
