The government continues to be pressed about the healthcare crisis.

The Left Party wants Ulf Kristersson to call the party leaders to a crisis meeting and for the government to send tens of billions to the regions.

– It is an urgent situation. People will die in care queues if this is allowed to continue, says Nooshi Dadgostar.

The Left Party wants Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) to convene all party leaders for deliberations on the healthcare crisis. According to V, the deliberations need to result in the government submitting a so-called extra amendment budget containing tens of billions to the regions, which are responsible for healthcare.

– We hear how entire care wards may have to be shut down, thousands of people are notified. We have to stop this, says Nooshi Dadgostar (V).

– The government can add an extra budget if it agrees with other parties, this was done in several cases during the corona pandemic.

Aftonbladet reported yesterday that 17 of the country’s 21 regions have deficits and that Sweden’s largest hospital, Sahlgrenska in Gothenburg, is forced to save on ambulance staff and psychiatry.

Catastrophic consequences

How much do you want to add?

– The reasonable thing is for the state to cover the deficits, how much can be investigated. SKR has a figure of around SEK 20 billion, the Ministry of Finance probably also has figures. This is an acute crisis that could lead to consequences with catastrophic consequences that we cannot even fathom today.

Nooshi Dadgostar further says that the government needs to act here and now. An invitation to a meeting should therefore arrive this week, or at the latest next week.

Prioritizing tax cuts

Have the regions really taken the responsibility that one would expect?

– The state has financing responsibility for the regions. Now almost all regions are in a crisis situation. This affects the whole country and the government has responsibility, a prime minister is not just the head of a number of authorities.

The government has added sector grants of 3 billion and announced payments to the regions of almost 10 billion before Christmas?

– It is nowhere near what is needed because inflation has gone up so much. The government prioritizes tax cuts for the richest.
