This is what GVFO Emmy Johansson looked like before the operation

The highlight of the week is when Married at First Sight rolls on Mondays. Viewers have already seen half the season and anything can happen in the remaining five episodes.

What exactly is love and how should it feel? The couples in this year’s season go through several challenges, conflicts and doubts – but of course also butterflies in the stomach. Emmy Johansson27, and Matthias Cedergren, 27, is one of the couples that oozes potential. But how much do they know about each other so far?

Here are the couples in GVFÖ who did not want therapy with the experts

Emmy and Mattias – stay together in need and desire!

Emmy Johansson and Mattias Cedergren were matched by the experts in this year’s season of “Married at First Sight”. It’s a couple with a clear chemistry and the only thing viewers hope for is that they stick together in need and desire.

After half the season has passed, it’s clear that the couple has gotten to know each other better, having only been married for two weeks.

We have seen them “fight” about the right way to place dishes in the dishwasher, how Emmy doesn’t appreciate Mattias’ cat noise and how Mattias accuses Emmy of ruining his only purchased flower.

– It’s zero percent serious, just a love affair. You already see in the episode before, but certainly in this episode, that we have a special jargon. Until the wedding trip, we tripped a little on each other’s toes, but on that trip things turned around for us and we found our jargon and became comfortable with each other, says Emmy to The evening paper.

Therefore, Emmy did not dare to have her hair up

In addition to dishwasher discussions, cat noises and “fussing” about the flower, a conversation arises about what Emmy’s ears looked like when she was younger.

As the couple lie in bed and talk, as couples do, they show each other pictures from childhood. When Mattias comes across a picture of Emmy in her younger days, he zooms in on her ear and says: “there you fly away”.

Emmy is quick to reply that he must not say that. Namely, she had her ears operated on when she was little because everyone said she was “Dumbo”. Mattias, good-natured as he is, is quick to apologize for what he just said.

– Bullying feels like too strong a word to use, but I was teased – children can be quite nasty to each other. Growing up, I received quite a few comments about my protruding ears. It became a complex and I found it very difficult. I didn’t dare to have my hair up and was always afraid of getting a comment about my ears, Emmy tells The evening paper.

This is how Emmy sees herself today

Today, Emmy has no problem with having her hair up. It was when she was in grade seven that she received an offer of surgery through the county council. The doctors removed some cartilage, pulled back the ears and ground them down.

After the operation, the mean comments stopped. Emmy explains that she is glad she had the surgery, as it simplified her life. On the other hand, she wonders how much one really wants to change oneself in order to fit into “some kind of template”.

– When I was younger, I had a hard time seeing that I was beautiful. But that’s what society looks like. There is probably not a single one of my friends who has not had problems with self-confidence. Many, especially women, compare themselves a lot with others and have high demands on themselves. But the older I get, the less I care about looks.

We on News24 think you are so beautiful Emmy!
