Director Marvin Kren’s new series Crooks was recently released on Netflix. In the mix of heist, thriller and drama, petty criminals Charly (Frederick Lau) and Joseph (Christoph F. Krutzler) team up to steal a valuable coin. But then the problems start and both end up in the gangster underworld between Berlin, Vienna and Marseille.
If you have already watched all 8 episodes, Netflix is offering gangster refills straight away. One of the two genre tips comes from the Crooks director and one star even appears in all three series.
First gangster tip for Crooks fans: 4 Blocks on Netflix
He already knows that Marvin Kren is very familiar with gangster material 4 blocks proven. For 3 seasons, the series revolves around the Arab clan leader Toni Hamady (Kida Ramadan), who has to juggle criminal business and private family affairs in Berlin-Neukölln. Also there: Frederick Lau as an undercover police officer who penetrates Toni’s inner circles.
4 Blocks was an exclamation mark in the German media landscape and showed how thrilling and authentic gangster and street cinema in series format can also work in this country.

Second gangster tip for Crooks fans: Asbestos on Netflix
In the 1st season asbestos, which was directed by Crooks and 4 Blocks actor Kida Ramadan, rapper Xidir aka Koder Alian plays the young soccer player Momo, who innocently ends up behind bars. He now has to assert himself in Berlin prison and is put under pressure by his uncle, the clan leader Amar (Stipe Erceg).
In addition to his position as a director, Kida is Ramadan in Asbestos also in a role in front of the camera to see. As an actor, he is a cast member in both Crooks and 4 Blocks and Asbestos.
