Migrants 108 million displaced in 2023 41 are minors

(Finance) – In 2023 beyond 108 million people have been forcibly displaced across the world, and 41% of them are children under 18 years old. This leads to disparities in human development among children they migrant teenagers and those of the host country, which however can be mitigated by access to regularization services and programs.
These data emerge from the study of Puts Foged (University of Copenhagen) e Sandra Rozo (World Bank) which will be presented on Friday 15 March 2024 at Banco di Napoli Foundation (via dei Tribunali 213) in the workshop “Economic and social integration of immigrants and refugees“, organized jointly with the Department of Economic Sciences and Statistics (DISES) of the University of Naples Federico II and the Center for Economics and Finance Studies (CSEF). International experts will participate including Marco Pagano (Federico II University), Christian Dustmann ( University College London), Tommaso Frattini (University of Milan), Roberto Nisticò (Federico II University), Dany Bahar (Brown University).

At the end one panel discussion chaired by the English journalist Bill Emmott (International Institute for Strategic Studies), former editor-in-chief of The Economist, in which the following will participate: Maria De Paola, Professor at the University of Calabria and manager at the INPS Central Studies and Research Directorate; Tito Boeri, Full Professor of Labor Economics at Bocconi University, essayist, columnist and former INPS president; Stefano Scarpetta, director for employment, labor and social affairs at the OECD.

Between themes of the working day also the impact of immigration on employment and wages in the labor market of the countries of arrival of immigrants and the effects of immigration and integration policies on living standards and on the inclusion of immigrants and refugees.
