Michael’s actor finds clear words about fans’ criticism that GTA 6 is “too woke”

The hotly anticipated trailer for GTA 6 provided a first insight into the story and characters of the new part of the well-known video game series. However, some fans didn’t like the fact that a woman was in the foreground this time. Recently, the actor of Michael, one of the protagonists of GTA 5, commented on this.

After the release of the trailer, which showed the new protagonist Lucia in action for the first time, there were some critical comments in the community. Apparently some fans couldn’t get used to seeing a woman as the main character in GTA this time.

Ned Luke, who played the character Michael in GTA 5, responded to fans’ criticism and expressed his opinion on the matter in an interview with IGN on December 23, 2023.

“There are a lot of clowns out there.”

Ned Luke finds words of praise for Lucia and the actor says clearly what he thinks about the people who criticize her as a protagonist:

“There are a lot of clowns here who say: ‘Rockstar is getting woke, they’re giving in to the wokeness of the world’. First of all, there have been other female protagonists in the past, but obviously not in a game as big as this.” (Source: ign.com)

Ned Luke raves about how well Lucia already shined as the new main character in the trailer. In his opinion, she was just tough.

He was particularly impressed by the very last scene, in which the two characters step through the door together to storm a store.

When will GTA 6 be released? So far, no exact release date for the new part of the popular game series has been announced. All we know is that GTA 6 will be released in 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
