Giorgia Meloni, who represents the nationalist right-wing party Brothers of Italy, took office last year and is the country’s first female prime minister.
She has also sued journalist and author Roberto Saviano, who wrote the book “Gomorrah,” after he called her a “shithole” in a 2020 television interview.
