The math genius Samet Yüce, 15, is in the first year of high school but is many steps ahead in mathematics. He was only a few years old when he learned to count math, and quickly became proficient.
– It was probably when I was about four or five. It wasn’t then that I didn’t realize I was good right away, but it was then that I started doing math, Samet tells News24.

Nyheter24 tests Samet’s skills in arithmetic
His family used to give Samet tricky math questions, and were shocked at how quickly he could figure them out.
– They were very impressed because I could calculate very quickly. Then I practiced more advanced things and just got better and better. Then I noticed that other people can’t just figure things like this out.
Samet was also involved in a talent show at school where he competed in mental arithmetic, and there even his maths teacher lost his chin.
– Then it was a shock, nobody understood how I could calculate so quickly. But I said I did it my own way. I think the math teacher got a little mad. He got a little jealous, says Samet with a laugh.

In Talang 2023, the entire Swedish people got to see Samet do his crazy math on a stage when he showed off his impressive skills. With four yeses from the floored jury, he went on to the semi-finals, which take place on March 10.
