Massive recall: presence of a prohibited substance in food decorations for cakes

Sold throughout France – in the Sucréation store and on the website – many FunCakes brand products are subject to a massive recall. Here’s what you need to know about the 12 defective batches of bakery food decorations.

FunCakes: recalled cake paints

The first product affected by a recall is a silver-coloured edible paint, packaged in a 30 ml bottle: METALIC FOOD PAINT SILVER BRAND FUNCAKES. This food decoration was marketed from 23/10/2020 to 02/11/2022.

Unhealthy cake icings

Marketed from 23/10/2020 to 02/11/2022, two batches of chocolate-flavored cake icings are also affected by a product recall. These products are each packaged in a bottle with a pouring spout of 180 gr.

The 12 food decoration products for pastries from the FunCakes brand contain a prohibited colorant: (E171 – titanium dioxide).
