Hollywood star Tom Holland has been in front of the camera since the early 2010s. He is best known for his role as Peter Parker a.k.a Spider Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For his most recent project, he switched to series production and implemented the dark drama The Crowded Room for the Apple TV+ streaming service.
In the film adaptation of the novel The Minds of Billy Milligan by Daniel Keyes, Holland takes on the role of a murderer suffering from multiple personality disorder. A few weeks ago he said that working on The Crowded Room gave him a lot of trouble. Now he announces a break from acting.

In an interview with Extra, Holland announces the drastic career move. After working as both an actor and producer in the exhausting creation from The Crowded Room, he wants to take some time off.
It sure was a tough time. We have [in der Serie] explored certain feelings that i definitely have had never experienced before. In addition, working as a producer, which involves dealing with the day-to-day problems of a film set, has added even more pressure.

Holland has already gained a lot of experience as an actor. In the producer role, however, he is still new. Prior to The Crowded Room, he served as executive producer only on Uncharted.
I’m no stranger to hard work. I live by the motto that hard work is good work. However, the series broke me. Eventually I needed a break and disappeared to Mexico for a week. There I spent time on the beach and retired.
After his experience with The Crowded Room, it is clear to Holland: You can’t go on without a break. He takes a year to distance himself from his work.
I’m taking a year off now, and the reason is that it was extremely exhausting to shoot this series. I’m curious how she turned out. I feel like our hard work has not been in vain.
Once Holland has recovered, wait two new film projects on him. He has recently been associated with Paddington director Paul King’s Fred Astaire biopic. In addition, his Marvel return is expected in Spider-Man 4. However, the MCU sequel is still a long way off. One of the reasons for this is the current writers’ strike in Hollywood.
When will The Crowded Room start on Apple TV+?
The Crowded Room launches on June 9, 2023 on Apple TV+. At launch, the first three episodes will be released. The remaining seven episodes of the miniseries will then follow on a weekly basis.
