A major police operation is underway in the municipality of Malung-Sälen. This after a man barricaded himself in a residence. There is information that the man has a weapon, the police say.
– We are on site at an address because we need to take care of a person who is in a property, says police spokesperson Gabriel Henning to TV4 Nyheterna.
Neighbors have been forced to evacuate and parts of highway 66 have been closed during the operation, which has been ongoing since Wednesday afternoon.
According to information to DN, the man must have shot at the police.
– There is nothing I will confirm or deny at the moment. We are on site and working to ensure that this ends well, says Henning.
