Do you remember the house with the balloons from “UP” by Pixar? You can now live and fly in it

In 2009, one of Pixar and Disney’s best animated films of the past 25 years, “OBEN” (in English: “Up”) was released. You can now rent Carl Fredricksen’s flying house via Airbnb. However, you should be able to handle high altitudes well.

Wait, that’s not a joke, is it? No, honestly not! The accommodation specialist Airbnb has announced “Icons”, a new category of rental accommodation that revolves around greats from music, film, television, art, sports and other areas.

We particularly liked an offer from Abiquiú, New Mexico. Here, anyone interested can actually rent Carl Fredricksen’s cute house from the wonderful animated film “UP”.

Similar to the film, it takes to the skies thanks to 8,000 floating balloons (and a crane). But the interior design also brings back many memories of the story of Carl, his great love Ellie and the young scout Russell. You can find various pictures of the house and further information on the Airbnb offer page.

Should I have seen “UP”? Absolutely! Even the prologue, in which Carl and Ellie’s relationship is highlighted, is simply told in a lovely way. In addition to the flying house, you can expect an exciting journey to Paradise Falls, talking dogs and catchy pieces of music.

It’s no coincidence that “UP” won the Golden Boys for “Best Animated Film” and “Best Original Score” at the 2010 Oscars. With worldwide box office receipts of approximately $735 million (with production costs of $175 million), “UP” is one of the most successful films Pixar has ever made.

Airbnb also has the X-Men Mansion from the 90s. More on that in a moment, here’s the trailer:

What other iconic offerings does Airbnb offer? The X-Mansion awaits you in New Castle, New York, which will catapult you back to the 90s. If you keep your eyes open, you will find more than 100 unique pieces from the “X-Men” story. In the “War Room” you try on the Cerebro helmet. In the “Danger Room” you train for future missions.

Just in time for the cinema release of “Everything’s Inside Out 2”, you can also make yourself comfortable in Riley’s control center from June. Try out funny levers and buttons, hang out with emotions like anger or fear and spend a restful night in the dream studio.

Which house would be your favorite for one or two nights? Tell us in the comments! By the way, we already had news about an Airbnb offer of a slightly different kind: a user rents out his expensive gaming PC with an Nvidia graphics card and doesn’t know how dangerous that could be
