Air France flights between Paris and Bamako are not resuming. While the airline suspended all its flights to Bamako, Ouagadougou and Niamey in August 2023, it is currently possible to buy tickets for Bamako on the Air France website. Some customers have already reserved their seats for this summer. But be careful, the suspension of flights is still in effect.

In just a few clicks, as if everything had returned to normal, it is possible to book a Paris-Bamako round trip for the summer holidays. But, information obtained from Air France management, flights between France and the Mali have not resumed and are not at all expected to resume.

The explanation is strictly technical: the suspension of sales is scheduled by periods. On the site, tickets are unavailable until May 31 and can be purchased again on June 1.

Gold, ” the situation has not changed. If the suspension is not lifted, these tickets will be canceled », Tells RFI the airline, which specifies that customers can then be reimbursed.

Last October, Air France had – a little hastily – announced the resumption of its flights to Bamako, as part of a partnership with the Portuguese company Euro Atlantic Airways: the Malian transitional authorities immediately denied this.

Since then, there has been no progress. Contacted by RFI, the Malian Ministry of Transport specifies that “ a recovery is not on the agenda » and that there is “ no ongoing discussions ” Currently. Air France, however, specifies “ to wish »resume these flights« as soon as the conditions are met “.

No recovery planned at this stage either or towards Ouagadougou, in Burkina Fasonor towards Niamey, Nigerwhere the current authorities have even banned all French companies since last September, not only from landing in Niger, but even from flying over the territory to go to other countries.
